I'd gotta say Sonic 3 & Knuckles. That lock-on idea was just ingenious when I was 9....

Probably Fatal Rewind, a pretty ingenious shooter/platform/puzzle game. Yeah, it had come out elsewhere first, but that's been my only exposure to the game thus far.

Strangely enough, I still really like Altered Beast and Space Harrier. I guess you never really get over that initial "wow" you feel when you see a next gen system for the first time (and are 12 years old).

Revenge of Shinobi was the first game that I owned for the Genesis, and is still one of my favorite games of all time.

Rockin soundtrack, great graphics, cool tricks (like the infinite throwing stars), and the continuation of a great arcade game...  MAN I liked that game.

I have to go with Gunstar Heroes. Awesome game made even better with two players.
