Everyone can name a game that they played, loved, and knew would be destined to end up in every gamer's library... only to find it in the bargain bin a few weeks later, a victim of poor sales, sup-par marketing, or any of the other cruel fates that await many games.

So what's yours? What game, in your opinion, is the Best Game No One's Ever Heard Of?

Mine's a close race, but I want to give it to F-Zero GX for the GameCube. Very few Wal-Mart demo kiosks have given me the urge to buy the game right then and there; FZGX was one of them. The speed is honestly what the 3D Sonic games should've been from the start, it had some excellent extra features (including compatibility with AX, the arcade version) and an excellent Story Mode. Frankly, a forgotten classic, just one of many on Sega's current-gen resume.

I found Baten Kaitos Origins at my local EB and thought it looked cool, but then realized that it was a prequel to a game I never heard of. I picked up the original Baten Kaitos a couple of weeks ago and it's pretty good, especially for $18.

My favorite game that no on ehas ever heard of is for the Genesis. Tyrants, Fight through Time. It was a real time strategy game.

I thought the hokey voices were the best.

Baten Kaitos rings a bell, but it reminds me more of Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. I remember that was them gave that Nintendo wanted to help shed the Cube's kiddy image (before the RE series came to town, that is), which was why I bought it. Haven't tried it yet, though....

I've been meaning to check that one out as well. - Eternal Darkness that is. My buddies kid told me it scared the shit out of him and he won't play it.

Well, lets see...Freedom Force for the nes is a game I NEVER hear mention of.  Also I rarely ever hear good mention of Bombastic for the PS2...or even Devil Dice for the PS1.  We got these games from bargain bins and these are like me and friends favorite puzzle games.

Also is F-ZERO GX a good multiplayer game?  My nieghbor has a gamecube and we are always looking for good multiplayers.   Oddly enough she has been loving Baten Kaitos for weeks.

Yeah, F-Zero has some good multiplayer, just not very deep since it is a racer after all....

I loooooved an old DOS game called Masters of Magic.

It was like a combination of the town-building of Civ with the fun creatures and magic of Heroes of Might and Magic.  I recall it fondly with older games and get blank stares.
