EDIT - 8/2/2007 - here's Stage Select's total traffic trend, over the life of the site... I've UPDATED the chart again, but just the small chart. CLICK the graph to be taken to a huge bar graph:

EDIT - last year from AWStats:

This year from AWStats:

traffic

From 40,000 to 70,000 visits last year, and from 70,000 visits to 128,000 visits this year.  Triple the traffic of 2005, so that's good.

This month's stats:

So - we've almost doubled traffic since last year.   41,000 visits to 75,000 visits...  I'll get page views in here some time very soon.

Even though our comment system is brand new in allowing anonymous posting, we've also seen a large number of anonymous posts.

It seems that the anonymous users really like to comment on the news stories, which is more or less what I was expecting.

So, I spent some time today to compile the total traffic picture for the site (and Fatman Games) since I started doing this thing - November of 2002.

Here's what the total traffic of Fatman Games / Stage Select has been over the history of the site:

CLICK the graph to be taken to a huge bar chart version of the graph.

This is about as complete as I could make it, but some months are missing a few visits. December of 2004 is an estimate based on only 1 week of traffic data.

Unique Visits is the only data point that I have consistant information for thoughout the history of the site. To get page numbers, you could take a stab at it and say Visit*2.5 = approx page views.

So 70,000 visits is roughly 175,000 pages.

PS - I've decided that this chart should be in the first post, too.

December to December (I forgot this thread for a couple of months):

traffic
Two months of a slight downward (less than 10K visits) trend, and one slight up month. Basically, at 2-2.5 K visits per day, there's not been much of a difference in traffic.

The site was re themed in November , with major work occurring in late December and into mid-January. The effects of that work on traffic probably won't be known till this month is out and into February. I don't expect the impact to be huge, but there should be some impact (like the impact to the news screen with anonymous posting).  Estimating the traffic based on current trends, January should have around 70-74K visits (around 160-180K page views).

Updated the first post, for the total stats picture from the logs, using AWStats.  AWStats is a bit better than SiteMeter - see the first post.

To view AWStats for the time that I have been at THIS host:

So, interestingly enough, over the course of the past couple of months, AWStats has been losing some of my statistics. I'll drop days a lot.

Good thing I said I liked the program..!
In July, I dropped 3 days of stats.
In May, I dropped a day.
In April, I dropped 2 days.

So, while the "big chart" is still going to use AWStats, I'm glad I also have the following chart from SiteMeter.

traffic

Basically, the chart shows a really good traffic trend over the course of this year. I'm about 10,000 visits away from doubling traffic again. Life is good.
