Pokemon X And Pokemon Y Parental Controls Available To Restrict 3D

Pokemon Y

In Pokemon X and Y, parents have a larger degree of control over their children's Pokemon experience.  The 3D controls in the parental controls for Pokemon X and Pokemon Y allow parents to restrict the 3D functionality for children under six.  This means that even if a youngster is playing on the 3DS, parents won't have to worry about inadvertently blinding their kids with the 3D effects of the 3DS system.

The parental controls do not restrict content within the game necessarily, as the game is developed with children in mind - there's not much that could be considered objectionable, unless you count putting fake animals into small Pokeballs as objectionable.

Of course, if Pokemon X or Pokemon Y are being played on a 2DS, there's no such worry about the 3D functionality, as this new system doesn't display 3DS games in 3D.

Are you concerned about your children using the 3D mode on the 3DS?
