Batman Arkham Origins
Batman Arkham Origins is one of the more hotly anticipated games coming out this season. NVidia is now showing off how the PC version of the game is getting some great enhancements.
Check out the video below for some great information about how they're enhancing Batman Arkham Origins with dynamic elements using PhysX, NVidia's technology that brings extra simulation elements to several games (like Borderlands 2).
PhysX is used in Batman Arkham Origins for snow effects and fog effects, as well as to enhance shadows that occur; as shadows are being cast for objects that are far away, the shadows get softer. Even Batman's cape has physics built into it, and it reacts to how Batman moves. The snow in the environment reacts to Batman's motion, and snow on the ground becomes real geometry which means that shadows can actually be cast into Batman's footprints.
There's some great tech in Batman Arkham Origins - can't wait to see it.
Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate (a companion game) is scheduled for release on the 25 of October on the Nintendo 3DS and Playstation Vita.
Warner Brothers Games Montreal developed Batman: Arkham Origins, and the game was published by Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment.
