Stage Select Video Game Page Gets a Facelift

Lost Planet

Stage Select is proud to announce that our game page has been significantly enhanced to offer you a sneak peek at the wide variety of content available for each game.

When you enter one of our games page, you're greeted with sub-categories.  Take for example, the game page for Lost Planet.  Here's a screenshot:

Lost Planet - New Game Page

As you can see, there are now links to specific reviews and FAQs on the left-hand side.  We also present the most recently added codes, news stories, and questions.  Now, granted - these preview items don't necessarily represent every code or question asked about the game you're browsing, just the most recently added items are presented here (top 5).  You can then use the tabs (section headers are also links!) to view everything available for the game.

These changes are a result of a thourough analysis of our traffic patterns over the last few months.  Although people typically land on the tab that they're really looking for (say, Codes), there are many people that are hitting the summary tab of the game page first.  These visitors usually click to the appropriate tab, but sometimes, we lose them - we want to do better.  We want to make it as easy as possible for people to find the information they're looking for, so we present the latest news, codes, and questions right away.

From there, people can of course look at the full information for the game by either clicking on the appropriate tab, or now, clicking on the appropriate section header.

We also put a lot of effort into letting people know what CAN be added to a game - for example, see this screenshot of Alphabet Zoo for the Colecovision.

Alphabet Zoo

Right now, we don't have a ton of information about the game, but we want people to know that we're running one of the largest user powered databases out there - so we present links right away to add new information.  You'll see to the right of each header, like "Codes & Cheats for Alphabet Zoo" is a link which says "Add Codes / Cheats".  The hope is that we'll encourage even our casual visitors to get involved, and share their information.
